Well, the bus trip to Cairns was a pretty uneventful six hours. I sat next to a Canadian chap who's working his way around the world doing odd jobs and contract work. We made one half-hour stop on the way at this sea-side town. I forget the name, but the view was fantastic. I decided to try out the wide-angle lens. Here's the beach across from the bus stop.
These are the two islands across the bay. I think the larger was called Goold Island, if memory serves. The smaller one is darker and right in front of the larger one. You really can't see it in the thumbnail.
Another wide-angle beach shot.
Once in Cairns, there wasn't a whole heck of a lot to photograph. The downtown seems to be all tourist gift shops and resaurants. I did like this signpost outside of one of the restaurants. Tomorrow I will explore the city more, and hopefully find things to do. I believe there is an art museum and an aquarium. I hope so; the only thing at the movie theater that I haven't seen already is >Eight Legged Freaks<.
