These pictures are the first things I saw once I stopped moving long enough to look around. The morning of November 11th.
These first few pictures are taken from the roof of the new Astronomy building at the University of Antalya.

This is a mosque across the street. Most of the mosques I saw had minerets. I don't know why this one didn't.

This is the view in the general direction of Bakirletepe. You can't actually see the mountain directly from down here, which is why there's a radio relay station half way up. Note the white peaks -- that snow all fell the night before.

This is the view back towards town. Here you can see one of the ubiquitous minarets.

Looking down from the roof across the university campus. You can see how new the building is -- they haven't finished the sidewalk. Also, if you look carefully, you can see the sea on the horizon.

Here I am standing on the unfinished sidewalk in the previous picture, looking back at the building. The fellow is Prof. Zeki Aslan, the director of the facility.

This is the truck with which we are about to drive up the mountain.

Antalya from part way up.
The mountain with the cloud covering its peak is Bakirletepe -- where we're going.

Again, Bakirletepe is to the right.

Here's a closeup of Bakirletepe. Remember, there was no snow here the day before.

Now we're starting to get above the snow line.

This is a mosque in the ski village of Saklikent.
